![]() ![]() Over age 40, persistent large lymph nodes have a 4 percent chance of cancer. What percentage of swollen lymph nodes are cancerous? They are easy to find in the neck and groin. Don’t look for lymph nodes, because you can always find some. Normal lymph nodes are smaller than ½ inch or 12 mm. If you have found a pea-sized or bean-sized node, this is normal. The submandibular lymph nodes (submaxillary glands in older texts), three to six in number, are lymph nodes beneath the body of the mandible in the submandibular triangle, and rest on the superficial surface of the submandibular gland. How many submental lymph nodes are there? Hot, swollen, tender, supple lymph nodes usually indicate infection and are accompanied by other symptoms. Submandibular lymphadenopathy refers to enlarged lymph nodes located beneath the mandible (lower jaw). What does it mean if your submental lymph node is swollen?
